Worth the $8 a bottle.?It’s a great idea: Add cannabis to a carbonated lemonade to make a drink that both refreshes and medicates. And it’s well executed by Chronic Tonic, as I learned when I found the beverage in The Medicine Connection, a dispensary in the Bitter Lake neighborhood of north Seattle. Two things became obvious immediately upon opening my $8 bottle of Chronic Tonic Super Lemonade, “infused with Super Lemon Haze”: First, it looks like conventional lemonade; second, it smells like marijuana. (Just to be clear, I view that smell thing as a big positive, man.)The taste was even more yummy than I expected. As a fan of both lemonade and weed, it made me happy to see them work so well together. As recommended by bud tender Ell at The Medicine Connection, I had my Super Lemonade chilled very cold.I drank the Chronic Tonic fast, on an empty stomach, and I started feeling the effects before I finished the bottle. Ell had given the lemonade his highest recommendation, touting its great pain relief and stress-reducing effects, and he was exactly right. A pleasantly stoned fuzziness filled my head, followed not long after by a raging case of the munchies. Is Chronic Tonic Super Lemonade worth $8 a bottle? Let me put it this way. Next time I’m in The Medicine Connection, I plan to get $40 worth. You can find Chronic Tonic Super Lemonade at The Medicine Connection, 929 N. 130th Street #3 (on 130th and Aurora, behind Car Toys).
