What used to be 1200 Bistro (under at least two different owners) will soon reopen as Blue Heron. As you can see, construction is still under way, but they’ve got a notice for a liquor license application in the window, and a hand-written note on the door says they’re hiring. When I called the Blue Heron in Magnolia, they told me they were no relation. Too bad. When I peeked my head inside the other day, the 12th Ave. Blue Heron promised to be open in two weeks. Let’s wish this place better luck (and more longevity) than its predecessors. From what I could tell, this Capitol Hill spot looks to be another bar-centered bistro, but sadly, they weren’t around (or reachable by phone) when I checked in to find out more.
