A street-side lesson at the Market

Chatting with the affable Pranee Khruasanit Halvorsen (who, as owner of I Love Thai Cooking, teaches cooking lessons all over town), she tells me the recipe for this Summer Sunday Cooking Demo will be pretty open. Her Thai vegetable stir fry allows cooks to shop the market and include whatever’s fresh that day. Building blocks for this 15-minute dish include green beans, eggplant, red Thai curry, sweet chili paste, basil (lemon, Thai, or sweet) and coconut milk. Additional veggies (and meat or tofu) are up to you. Stop by the tent at Pike Place Market this Sunday and say hello to Pranee. She’ll be happy to chat, and will demonstrate just how easy it is to whip up a tasty stir fry.
