BOAT

Saturday, July 5

Do you ever wish the perky days of early ’60s bubblegum sunshine pop could be transported into the bodies of hipster indie rocker kids? And then sold with actual bubblegum? The 7 inch of BOAT’s “Topps” EP, which dropped on June 17, includes four songs, a digital downloads, five hand-drawn baseball cards and a “stick of bubblegum.” The Seattle group, in addition to crafting the perfect summer release, is going to make BOAT history by playing as a 5-piece. “Galactic Ricky” joins on lead saxophone, one fingered arpeggio guitar, bells, and keyboards. And them some group named “The Long Winters” will play. With the Cops. Showbox at the Market, 1426 First Ave., 628-3151. 8 p.m., $16.
