You’ve got it all wrong, Keyter!Despite the solid bennies, sometimes working for the Lazy B isn’t as easy as its cracked up to be. At least, that’s what a dude named Anthony Keyter would surely say. The seemingly unhinged Gig Harbor man is a former Boeing pilot and, acting as his own lawyer, is suing the company for trying to kill him, reports the P-I. Also in on the plot, according to his complaint, are the U.S. Supreme Court and the Federal Aviation Administration. Why would Boeing want to kill him? To retaliate for his lawsuit against George W. Bush, he says.Keyter has it all wrong, though. Boeing doesn’t try to kill its pilots. What Boeing does is use its subsidiary Jeppesen to provide the planes and handle the logistics (like hotel reservations!) when the CIA kidnaps people and flies them to countries that don’t have torture and detention laws (wait–is that necessary?) so they can be subjected to “enhanced interrogation.” The thing is, when people sue over the extraordinary rendition, the government tries to get it dismissed because of its potential to compromise “state secrets.” No one’s claimed state secrets on Keyter’s suit, so the smart money’s on it being without merit.
