What’s with the gun toting youngsters this week? First, Caleb Hannan told us about the 4-year-old boy who shot his mom with a semi-automatic shotgun. Now a 12-year-old is under arrest for allegedly plotting to shoot up his school and murder his adoptive family. Call me old fashioned, but I had thought cravings for wanton violence developed after puberty. The latest tale of adolescent aggression comes out of Carnation, where this fresh faced 6th grader at Tolt Middle School had supposedly made his reputation as one of the kids who bullies girls on the bus and threatens to slit student’s throats when they speak up. You know? The cool kids.A mother of one of the classmates who the boy threatened told KING 5 News that the child meant business.”He said he was going to shoot my son and slit his throat to make sure he did a good job,” says Traci, who asked us not to use her last name. “There’s three parts to a crime. The planning, the ability and the follow through. He got two-thirds of the way there.”He had also recently been arrested after trying to strangle his sister. Though, in his defense, girls take sooooo long in the bathroom. The cops say the boy wasn’t just running his mouth and when they searched his house they found two shotguns and a 9mm pistol. The boy’s been expelled and sent to juvy. He’ll face assault charges soon and prosecutors say more could follow. One can only hope that these children stick with random acts of violence and don’t start organizing themselves. Otherwise, we could have a revolution on our hands.
