This guy sold weed? Get out!His arrest and conviction saw an internal battle among Granite Falls, Wash., officials rage for months, and eventually led to the resignation of its police chief. But Floyd “Butch” DeRosia, Granite Falls’ former mayor, is now a convicted weed dealer. The bald and bearded biker was convicted yesterday of two counts of delivery of a controlled substance. As we reported back in November, DeRosia’s arrest, which came last April and was part of a drug sweep that netted 10 arrests total, sent shock waves through the town, not so much for the crimes but for the investigation itself. The police chief at the time, Tony Domish, had ordered the sweep. He also tipped off the media ahead of time so they could be there to capture photos of DeRosia’s arrest. This infuriated Mayor Haroon Saleem, who was friends with DeRosia, and it led to the mayor saying chief Domish had “gone rogue.” Soon afterward, Domish resigned.Of course, it didn’t help that the chief was also found to be ignoring complaints about his department, not informing prosecutors about cases, and keeping porn on his work computer. As for DeRosia, he had been caught selling weed to two different undercover officers, and the case was essentially open-and-shut.Follow The Daily Weekly on Facebook and Twitter.
