The tech and video-game blogs are going nuts right now. Nintendo is unveiling the Wii U, the company’s next-generation home console and the successor to the Wii. It’s more powerful, has more “serious” games, and its controller is the size of an iPad.Nintendo claims the Wii U will offer “deeper game experiences” than past consoles. This, no doubt, is due to the common perception thjat Nintendo games are the most kid-oriented, family-friendly games on the market. It would appear that the Redmond company is attempting to woo the legions of “core” gamers who spend every waking moment slaughtering each on games like the Halo series, Gears of War, and Call of Duty: Black Ops.The most notable feature of the new system is certainly the controller.I mean, look at this thing. That’s a 6.2-inch touch screen that lets people play games on the TV or on the controller itself. Some people are thrilled about the big-ass controller. Others not so much. The system itself is decidedly less radical appearance-wise. But it boasts some serious power that takes graphics and frame rates through the roof.Anyhow, here’s a vid of the unveiling.Follow The Daily Weekly on Facebook and Twitter.
