The Seattle Seahawks’ official Twitter account has nearly 320,000 followers. Perhaps it’s inevitable that at least one of them would be an adult film star. And perhaps it’s also inevitable that said adult film star would feel compelled to tweet an ass shot at the team while wearing a Marshawn Lynch hoodie.
But what may catch some folks by surprise (especially considering the tight-lipped PR employed throughout the league) -is the endorsement the team apparently gave to said ass shot via Twitter.
As has now been documented on multiple blogs (here, here, here and here), adult film star Tori Black tweeted the ass shot at the team on Halloween, writing “MORNING BOOTY! Who dat?! #seahawks #lynch #24.” In response, according to the screen-grabbing blogosphere (which is all we can cite at this point since the tweet was quickly deleted), the Hawks tweeted: “That’s that #BeastMode right there. #GoHawks”
We’ve reached out to the Seahawks communications team to get a comment on the situation and to ask whether the team has guidelines it adheres to when interacting with fans (even porn star fans) on Twitter.
All of this said, that’s not to suggest this is some sort of scandal. If anything. we’d like to see more NFL teams feeling free to playfully respond to porn stars via Twitter. It could really spice things up.
And, given the real-life controversies the team’s players have gotten into via Twitter, tweeting at porn stars pales in comparison.
