Seattle Weekly systems administrator Paul Jensen pleaded guilty to four counts of 1st degree theft on Thursday, in a case centered around allegations that he stole nearly $100,000 from his former bandmates in the Dudley Manlove Quartet. Jensen was originally charged with 32 counts of first-degree theft and 16 counts of second-degree theft. Jensen declined comment, as did the members of the band. The King County prosecutor’s office wasn’t immediately available for comment confirmed the plea this afternoon. The counts carry a maximum sentence of 12 months for a first-time offender like Jensen. That sentence can be served in a number of ways (jail, electronic home monitoring, or work release). As a first-time offender, he’s also eligible for a first-time offender waiver, which would cap his sentence at 90 days while imposing additional monitoring requirements. Sentencing is set for May 8th.
