Running or not, Dino is already in the crosshairs.Despite the fact that he’s not even in the running at this point, possible Republican Senatorial candidate Dino Rossi is getting the full once-over from national Democrats.First the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee set up the Dirty Deals Dino For Senate website. Now they’ve leaked a scoop to The Everett Herald: the investment company where Rossi works owes $20,000 in back taxes. As far as potentially damaging opposition research goes, the DSCC’s smear job is the rough equivalent of scuffing Rossi’s wingtip. The property in question was purchased a full two years before Rossi joined the company. It’s not like he was caught with a shopping bag filled with bank notes.Still, this minor revelation is one of several bits of guilty-by-association ammunition Democrats have spent months stocking. Rossi may not think he’s made himself a target yet, since he hasn’t decided whether or not to challenge Patty Murray, but this latest bit of news should make it clear that no one’s waiting for an official announcement to take aim.
