P-I business writer Andrea James got a glowing profile in Marketwatch today. She’s led a hard, fascinating life, losing both parents by the age of 13, reporting on Hurricane Katrina in her first full-time journalism gig, and watching her husband battle cancer. On top of that, her employer may be about to shut down. But, as the column notes, she doesn’t want pity. She just wants to continue writing. “I fell in love with getting scoops,” she says.
