Of all the places that two 13-year-old runaway girls thought they’d end up when they skipped out on their parents, it’s probably safe to assume that outside a Tacoma doughnut shop, working as prostitutes, is near the bottom of the list. That would have supposedly been before the girls met Sadina Devona Rice, however, as The P-I

reported on Wednesday. Federal prosecutors say the woman offered to let the girls live in her apartment as long as they promised to shack up with men for money–money that ultimately went to Rice. And since the girls had apparently been sleeping on the streets and in school yards prior to meeting Rice, the trade off, at least initially, seemed enticing. And not that any location is a dignified place to be an underage prostitute, but the girl’s main landing strip was apparently the sidewalk in front of an unnamed Tacoma doughnut shop. When the cops finally raided Rice’s apartment, they found one of the girls inside, along with fake IDs for her and her friend, a blanket seen in a sex-ad photograph and school paperwork, with Rice listed as the girls’ guardian. Not that they needed any of that. Rice apparently managed to photograph her own reflection when she was taking snapshots of the girls for their online sex ads.
