Jack McCauley Christy drives a cab in Seattle for a living. So if a man insults his driving, that man insults his livelihood. And according to police, when you insult Jack Christy’s livelihood, you get run over by it.The P-I
reported Monday that Christy, a 45-year-old from Puyallup, faces second-degree assault charges for ramming his cab into a man in a Lower Queen Anne alleyway. The alleged victim and his two buddies were supposedly walking down the alley when Christy drove through and nearly hit them. The trio confronted the cabbie while he was stopped, getting ready to turn, and told him that he should probably slow down and avoid hitting people with his damn car.Not one to take advice from pedestrians, Christy allegedly pulled out of the alley, made a U-turn and floored it right at the group, smashing into one of them and leaving him with minor injuries.Per Seattle Det.Timothy DeVore in court:”Christy sped his cab toward (the victim) striking him on the left side of his body. Just prior to being struck by the vehicle, (the victim) jumped in the air and bounced on top of the cab and then onto the street.”Police caught up with Christy a short while later where, between bites of a pizza , he claimed the dude just jumped out in front him and he couldn’t help but hit him (an occurrence that seemingly only Christy bore witness to). Besides that, he apparently added: “There are no normal people left in Seattle, nothing but (anti-gay slur) and scum.”It’s OK, Jack, you can tell us how you really feel.
