In my home state of Montana, Ryan Leaf’s assholedome is legendary. From the time he was slinging touchdowns for Charles M. Russell High School in Great Falls, stories of his uninvited advances on girls and other unbecoming behavior was the stuff of dinner table conversation.Which gets to a little tidbit about how the latest development in the life-long train-wreck that is Ryan Leaf made it to the press. (In case you missed it, the “latest development” is that Leaf was kicked out of his court-ordered drug treatment program for threatening staff and shipped to the Montana State Penitentiary, a.k.a. The Rancho Deluxe.)Here’s how my friend Allison Squires, an editor at the Great Falls Tribune, described on Facebook her paper’s scoop:”Perhaps the best part of the most recent installment of the Ryan Leaf saga is how the tip came in the first place: [reporter] Scott Thompson spoke to an anonymous caller, who first asked him if we paid for new tips. Scott said no, of course, and the caller responded, “Well, I’m going to tell you anyway because I hate Ryan Leaf…”So there you have it, folks. Karma alive and well.
