If you’ve been wondering what’s up with the new stoplight at 7th and Spring (and surely you have), it’s being installed to deal with the re-routed traffic from the closure of the Olive Way exit on I-5. The exit will be closed from sometime this month until next May to allow Sound Transit to dig tunnels for the light rail line from downtown to Capitol Hill (and beyond!). Sound Transit is footing the bill for the new stoplight, says SDOT spokesperson Marybeth Turner.
