Furthering a campaign of local-media domination that has already seen him take over the studios of KEXP, wangle a rave from a venerated P-I columnist, and browbeat his boss into running an excerpt of his book as a Seattle Weekly cover story, author Mike Seely will next bring the publicity machine for his debut novel, Seattle’s Best Dive Bars, to the rarefied milieu of KUOW. Tomorrow morning, Mike will be sitting down with Steve Scher on the typically more-elevated interview show “Weekday.” So be ready to call in with all your dive-bar (or bottomfeeding) questions. Mike (seen above, during a recent spoken-word performance at the Blue Moon) would love to hear from you. He’s likely to be a more forthcoming guest than was the Uptight Seattleite. The Seely juggernaut next descends on Abraxus Books, with a 7:30 p.m. reading this Friday evening, followed by a Ballard pub crawl. If you happen to miss that appearance, believe me, there will be another.
