For the record, gang rape is indeed strictly prohibited on all King County buses. Putting up fake signs that remind people of this, however, is also strictly prohibited. That’s why cops are on the lookout for a vandal who’s been putting up stickers on Metro buses that point out that very rule (the second time the vandal has struck since he or she first showed up in 2009).The shot above-right comes from a KOMO News report from Friday. There’s also another fake sign that reminds people not to take a leak on the bus.As proven last week, when a video was released that showed a group of 14-to-19-year-old girls beating and robbing a pregnant teen on the No. 358 bus, Metro riders are apparently in need of more explicit reminders of how to behave like decent human beings. So while we’re not saying that an easy-to-read sign that points out the illegality of forced sexual intercourse isn’t a good idea, it would be nice to put up some similar warnings against a few of the more frequent bus crimes like assault, robbery and hate crimes. The no urinating sign, however, well that’s just a good call all around.
