Following up on a post from yesterday morning, as promised the Seahawks unveiled the team’s new, Nike-designed uniforms this morning in New York. With safety Kam Chancellor on hand and playing the part of runway model, the Hawks officially debuted a new look that’s significantly more new-school than many had anticipated. All 32 teams were represented in New York in an event that marked (and marketed) the NFL’s switch this year from Reebok to Nike as official uniform provider for the league, but the Hawks’ new look was far and away the most dramatic change.Though a signature gray stripe is now featured on the team’s helmet – perhaps a nod to the past and the glory days of Cortez Kennedy –overall the Seahawks’ new uniforms are closer to something from the World League of yesteryear than the often drab duds we’re accustomed to seeing on the NFL playing field.But at least there are no wings or diamond plating.
