Each year, thousands of the less rain-resistant among us flee Seattle and King County in search of warmer climes or richer job markets. At the same time, thousands of other fresh-faced out-of-towners migrate into the city, enticed by its vibrant nightlife, outdoor opportunities, or, most likely, a mid-level position with Amazon. Now this endless diaspora (well, the one in 2008, at least) has been detailed in an interactive map.Forbes published the map on Sunday using data the Internal Revenue Service.It shows migration both into and out of Seattle and eight other major U.S. cities, as well as several (but not all) counties. It tracks how many people moved into and out of the county, and where they moved from/to.Some of the biggest sources of new King County residents were Los Angeles County with 2,322 transports and Whatcom County with 1,049. Among King County’s closest and largest neighbors, however, the trend was reversed, with 14,631 people leaving King for Snohomish County, compared with 11,044 doing the opposite, and 13,056 people leaving King County for Pierce County, compared to 9,265 moving here from Pierce County.
