Click to enlargeAs punctuated the other day by a well-placed blow-dart, the Ballard Bridge ain’t the friendliest place for cyclists. The city is trying to change that, with a plan on which it’s currently asking for feedback. The bridge’s flip-you-over divider will remain the same height, but the Southwest exit will be better marked and will no longer force bicyclists to merge through a five-foot-long break in the divider into rushing traffic. It will, however, continue to send them across an oft-used right-turn lane–albeit with better signage and some little road bumps. It will not provide any additional protection from blow darts.
