…because cars are crashing into care facilities left and right. Okay, it’s a cheap shot on old news, but what Husky fan, upon hearing the last two days’ news, isn’t reminded of Jerramy Stevens’ epically shameful hit-and-run, wherein he T-boned a 92-year-old woman’s bedroom in an assisted-living retirement home, fled the scene, and received only a half-game suspension from Rick Neuheisel? The Huskies have turned the page twice over, as Sark the Shark now captains the ship; now it’s the other 99.99% or the population that’s causing the problems. To wit, yesterday a North Bend woman slammed her SUV into a child care facility, sending three infants to the hospital. Then, this morning, a man crashed his orange Ford Crown Victoria (formerly a taxi cab) into a medical clinic–and then fled the scene, a la Stevens. (He was later tracked down by the K-9 unit.) It’s bad enough that the state legislature is cutting funding for our young and vulnerable–must we crash into their places of service as well?
