Another shift, and another shipment of good news. The rate of invalid signatures on the petitions for proposed anti-gay measure Referendum 71 pushed up another hundredth of a point in the late shift last night, finishing at 13.55%. A hundredth of a point isn’t much, but if the measure’s going to make the ballot, its error rate needs to drop sooner rather than later, as anything over 12.42% will mark its demise. At which point Washington’s domestic partners will get a separate-but-not-quite equal (to marriage) arrangement that’s still vastly superior to the current one.
