About a year ago, as the presidential election was heating up, Samuel L. Jackson came out with a pro-Obama ad urging voters to “Wake the fuck up.” As far as political ads go, it was fairly brilliant.
However, just because Jackson stumped for the current Commander-in-Chief doesn’t mean he has no qualms with the Leader of the Free World. Specifically, as Jackson explains in a recent interview with Playboy, the man who played Jules Winnfield would like to see Obama stop trying so hard to sound like an average schmoe when he’s speaking to the American people.
As Hollie McKay of Fox News relays:
“First of all, we know it ain’t because of his blackness, so I say stop trying to ‘relate.’ Be a leader. Be f**king presidential,” Jackson told Playboy magazine. “Look, I grew up in a society where I could say ‘It ain’t’ or ‘What it be’ to my friends. But when I’m out presenting myself to the world as me, who graduated from college, who had family what cared about me, who has a well-read background, I f**king conjugate.”
While most media outlets – including the Fox News piece referenced above – are seizing on Jackson’s proclamation that Obama needs to “Be fucking presidential,” I find his “I fucking conjugate” line far more entertaining.
Feel free to discuss.
