Tomorrow’s show is the first stop on the band’s tour, though, so it’s hard to know what to expect, though Dead Oceans’ website promises an additional set of songs that aren’t part of the film score. The film is Tim Rutili’s first feature-length film, and it is called All My Friends Are Funeral Singers, which happens to be the same title of Califone’s sixth album (which begs the question: did the album hatch the film, or did the film hatch the album?) Scoring films is something Califone’s done before — they’ve improvised live scores to silent films, for example — but this show is a little different, since the album corresponds directly with the film. The film, which stars Angela Bettis (Girl, Interrupted) screens at the Husky Union Auditorium on the University of Washington campus, it starts at 7:30 p.m., and costs $12 at the door or $8 for UW students.
