The other night, I heard an interesting conversation between two of the city’s wildest MCs that makes me look forward to the next couple of months. Fatal Lucciauno, who many people know as a gangsta rapper/street poet who raps about the harsher elements of Seattle, was chatting with Buffalo Madonna of Mad Rad about the possibility of a collaboration. DJ Darwin was going spastic in the background as Buffalo was trying to convince Fatal that they should make a song together. Since both MCs are at opposite ends of the spectrum as far as style and lyrical content goes, if the two of them could find a middle ground, Seattle hip-hop audiences would be floored at the end result. For about 30 seconds, Fatal paused and thought long and hard about where this could go. Then he looked up with a smile on his face and said: “Alright, here’s what we need: a pizza, some Pepsi, and a studio. And we’ll be all good.” Maybe it was just late night banter, but if these two really do get together in the studio, with said pizza, and said Pepsi, using a beat from P Smoov, I can’t even imagine what they’re going to create. But I’ll definitely post the track so that people can hear it if I can.
