Spinning headstands? Airswipes? Downrocks? Elbow glides? Flares? Poplocks? On Tuesday nights, Eastlake’s Lo_Fi Performance Gallery‘s got ’em. Early in the week, urbanites and hipsters of every make and model crowd the labyrinthine space for the best in old-school hip-hop, new-school socializing, and, of course, break dancing. On other evenings, this warehouse-style venue is true to its name; showcasing spoken-word performances, video installations, dance combos, jazz trios, and other varieties of intelligent, artful entertainment. Regardless of what’s going down in the show rooms, the Lo_Fi is almost always hosting a great party up in the lounge. Perhaps because owner Michael Leone has, with a little help from his friends, handcrafted Lo_Fi into a purposefully unique arena, an unusually good vibe pervades. 429-B Eastlake Ave. E., www.lofiseattle.org.
