If you are MySpace friends with Mamma Casserole or the Comet, you have undoubtedly seen a bulletin trumpeting the return of underground Detroit garage rock heroes the Go to Seattle tonight. I flipped out myself when the show was announced, and said as much in my column a couple of weeks ago. Mysteriously, every other local media outlet (as far as I can tell) seems to be overlooking this show, which I find truly bizarre, especially considering their ties to Sub Pop and the fact that Jack White was a founding member. Hell, even local band the Cops are such huge fans that they’re considering naming their next album Free Electricity after the Go’s unreleased psych-pop record. Those bits of trivia aside, the reason you should see the Go play their first show here in more than 5 years is because they are essentially what would happen if your Nuggets boxed set could come to life.
