Chris Hansen and a group of investors — the folks who have been gobbling up parcels in SoDo to make way for what they hope to be a venue for NBA and NHL teams — have purchased Showbox SoDo. According to the Puget Sound Business Journal, the group paid $8 million, or roughly six times what it sold for in 2001. According to the Journa, AEG will keep operating the room as a venue at least for another five years, and possibly 10. Which is very good news for concert-goers who appreciate the venue’s proximity to Hooverville.
