1. Canlis Service Director David Kim has announced his departure after 15 years on staff. Floor Manager Kyle Johnson will take Kim’s place.

2. Georgetown Brewing Company has released Bob’s Brown Ale, a limited edition beer to benefit Seattle’s Ronald McDonald House. The goal is to raise at least $90,000, enough for approximately 3,000 nights of housing for seriously ill children and their families. For the past nine years, sales of Bob’s Brown Ale have raised more than $420,000 for the cause.

3. The Mariners are hosting a special Sriracha night on May 22, when they’ll host the Houston Astros. For a special ticket rate of $25, you’ll receive a Sriracha-themed package that includes a main level seat, a Mariners Sriracha T-shirt, and your choice of one Sriracha menu item (a Sriracha cream cheese hotdog, Sriracha garlic fries, or a Sriracha milkshake). 4. Ballard’s Brunswick & Hunt – the farm to neighborhood restaurant, located on the corner of 15th and 70th – has rescheduled its opening date, originally slated for May 22nd. Co-owner Barry Rogel cites a “family health emergency” as responsible for they delay but says “we’re very pleased to say that all is well and we are right on track for a mid-June opening.” Brunswick & Hunt will have Chef Jeffrey Davidson at the helm, serving up locally-sourced mostly-meat dishes. Lead Bartender Eric Holmquist will mix high quality cocktails and pour from eight rotating taps and a Northwest-focused wine list.

5. Advocacy group Animal Welfare Institute estimates that 80% of meat labels (such as “sustainably produced” and “humanely raised”) may be baloney, reports Time. The group is purporting there is little oversight in the labeling process and little transparency behind these phrases’ meanings.
