What could be Fremont’s first pho place (at least as far as anyone can remember) is now open for business, and it comes with a surprising added bonus. Owner Sam Han originally opened in the former Sonic Boom location in January under the name Kiwi and served only frozen yogurt, as he does at his Ballard shop, Mooberry. With the downturn of the economy, Han realized he needed to do something drastic to stay afloat. I wasn’t really making it,” he says. He looked around and saw an unmet need with pho. The result is the sleek and clean Lucky’s Pho. “I think they complement each other,” Han says of his menu.
