If ever there was a time and place to justify eating way

If ever there was a time and place to justify eating way too much ice cream, Seattle, summer of 2009, is it. We’re exploding with new ice cream shops, and it’s been the hottest summer anyone can remember, which means Tom Douglas is timing Tuesday’s Ice Cream Social pretty perfectly. Happening at the Palace Ballroom, a ticket gets you access to grilled corn on the cob, carnival games, a photo booth, and most important, ice cream from the likes of Molly Moon’s, Holly Smith’s Poco Carretto Gelato, Empire, Half-Pint, Full Tilt, and Dahlia Bakery. Feel free to gorge: With all the heat, we can just sweat it off. 448-2001. 13 years old and up, $20; 12 years old and under, $10. Tue., August 11, 5 p.m.-7 p.m.For more events like this, check out Food Files.
