Looking for an Easter eating experience that doesn’t involve you and a ham? Check out some of this weekend’s swell celebratory meals—as well as pop-up bakeries where you can grab sweets besides chocolate bunnies. Even if you don’t go in for the holiday, these brunches and bakeries are deliciously great deals.

Ethan Stowell’s Bar Cotto is offering brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 20 that includes rich seasonal dishes: pork-belly hash with roasted fennel, Yukon gold potatoes, a poached egg, and fennel pollen; or creamy polenta with braised beef, roasted garlic, and tomato. A few pizzas and desserts are also available, as are springtime cocktails. Reservations are encouraged. Call 838-8081 or visit ethanstowellrestaurants.com.

Maria Hines has prix-fixe Easter brunches on the menu at all three of her restaurants. At Golden Beetle, $25 gets you four courses with choices such as spring onion and wild-mushroom scramble and a spicy Skagit River Ranch pork-shank hash. Over at Tilth, the $30 menu includes the likes of stuffed French toast (with rhubarb, mint, and pistachio) and cheddar biscuits and smoked pulled-chicken gravy. Agrodolce’s serving several courses as well. For $25, savor items like albacore tuna Benedict and an asparagus omelet with pancetta, pecorino, and bechamel. Visit mariahinesrestaurants.com for more information.

Fonte Cafe on First Avenue is featuring five specialty a la carte dishes for Sunday brunch, including a take on their best-selling brunch item, eggs Benedict with housemade English muffins. The Easter version has confit rabbit, poached eggs, and hollandaise. There’s also a rabbit stew, rabbit frittata, a “Velveteen” rabbit pate, and “Deviled Bunny” eggs topped with crispy—you guessed it, rabbit! Head over to Rachael Coyle’s phenomenally popular pop-up bakery at the Book Larder on Saturday the 19th to get your Sunday sweets. Though it technically runs until 1 p.m., the line will surely already be winding out the door at the 9 a.m. opening. But if you want to guarantee a knockout dessert, preorder one of Coyle’s holy passion-fruit tarts by today at coylebakeshop@gmail.com! At $40, it serves eight. For more info on the pop-up, visit her Facebook page.

Parchment, a new bakery pop-up at Brimmer & Heeltap, has announced its second event on Easter morning from 7 a.m. until noon. Chef Laura Pyles (Revel, Joule, Book Bindery) will sell special Easter treats, along with “extra-breakfasty items to suit demand.” Expect things like maple bacon and butterscotch sea-salt bundt cakes.
