If things have gotten a little too serious lately in your relationship, loosen up in the U District. Start with a casual dinner at Cedars–you can order up some naan and a couple of dishes for sharing, like the impossible-to-resist palak paneer or their amazing falafel plate. After dinner, head a few blocks over to Giggles Comedy Club and leave it to the professionals to lighten the mood. You’ll be in good hands this weekend with seasoned veteran Jake Johanssen, a regular on Letterman who’s had his own HBO comedy special. Tickets are $20, which includes one non-alcoholic beverage, but if you want something a little stronger, make sure you bring cash since Giggles does not accept credit cards. (There’s nothing funny about needing a drink and having no way to pay for it.) Find great date ideas like this plus restaurant gossip and local food events in our Big Bites e-newsletter. Sign up here and we promise we won’t flood your inbox with spam.
