Frites, the best frites stand I’ve found since I moved back to the States from Charleroi, Belgium, 18 years ago, has closed. Was it me? Did I not come often enough? Should I have bought extra tubs of curry ketchup or tipped more? Couldn’t Frites have raised its prices instead? Will someone resuscitate the place? Can I buy the metal frites-salting bowl and some extra paper cones off the owners and try and bring the love home?
