Adios, Paladar…A fast alert for those of you who love Cuban sandwiches, ropa vieja or big plates of moros y cristianos: Paladar Cubano–the sorta-truck that’s been permanently stationed at 8953 Aurora Avenue North–is going to be closing down for good in, like, three hours.I just got word of the impending closure last night, via Paladar’s Facebook page. And now today, the news is up on the main website as well–just a simple “Paladar Cubano will be closing the truck for good on Wednesday June 30,2010. Thanks for everything!!!”There’s no word as to why the place is going dark, no explanation for the sudden decision to pack up the Cuban bread and pulled pork and head off into the sunset. It’s weird because as recently as the end of May, Paladar was still experimenting with new hours, getting the truck tuned up for summer and tinkering with the menu. Everything looked to be full speed ahead for the season. But now this.Paladar is planning on staying open today until 7pm–meaning that, if you hurry, you can still get down there for one last fix of Paladar’s Cuban goodness–for a medianoche or a plate of fried yucca with garlic sauce. So seriously, what are you waiting for?Go there. Now.Before it’s too late.
