Julia’s Starters $5.50 to $6.95, main dishes from $13.95, but it’s the desserts that make the heart beat stronger: cherry mousse with bittersweet chocolate sauce ($4.50), profiteroles with almonds and caramel ($4.25), and ganache dotted with red-velvet hearts ($4.75). Gene’s Ristorante Singles: Here’s your shot to profit from all that pain! Come dine in Gene’s one-night singles-only upstairs room, bring your love-related sob-story, and see how it stands up against the miseries of others: Prizes range from your four-course dinner for free to a wet smack from a waitperson of your choice. 212 S. Canlis Can’t get a reservation for The Night itself? Not to worry: Greg Atkinson’s romantic five-course tasting menu runs straight through February. Passion-fruit prawns, beet-orange-watercress salad, a champagne sorbet, peppercorn steak, and warm chocolate cake: yum. $65 per person, $100 with five paired wines. 2576 Aurora N., 283-3313.

Bandoleone and Tango Danielle Phillipa’s two Latin-accented bistros each lay out an array of tasty tapas items priced from $7 to $13 guaranteed to stoke your furnace, and they’re available right through the weekend as well. 2341 Eastlake E., 329-7559; 1100 Pike, 583-0382.

McCormick’s Fish House Oysters, lobster, figs, fudge, and caviar: just a few of the ingredients in chef Kerry “We can at least satisfy your passion for food” White’s aphrodisiac dinner menu, available Feb. 14-17. $34.95 or $69 for two (what? Maximilien Dust off your French phrase book for a four-course menu of items like huitres ti褥s glac饳 au champagne, caille farci au foie gras, sauce Mad貥, and loup de mer, and live music from P’tit Voyou. $55. 81A Pike, Pike Place Market, 682-7270.

Szmania Twice as much lovin’: Celebrate a week early on Feb. 7 with tuna tartare with caviar, lobster chowder, and other dainties at a 6 p.m. gourmet club supper, $50 (Magnolia only), or wait for the day itself and the $59 special four-course menu at both restaurants. 3321 W. Serafina A spectacular ࠬa carte menu with antipasti like bruschetta Fra Diavolo ($9.75), salads featuring blood oranges and olives ($7.95) or smoked duck and piquillo peppers ($10.95), three varieties of gnocchi ($14.95-$17.95), morel lasagna ($17.95) or braised lamb shank ($20.95), and many, many lovely desserts—and presumably romantic live music. 2043 Eastlake, 323-0807.

Deux Tamales A special menu including lobster bisque ($8), smoked salmon parfait ($7), braised veal shank ($19), and the patented poached pear on cr譥 caramel ice-cream dessert ($8). Go on, have the Latina Amor cocktail: tequila, champagne, and a dash of Amaretto ($8). 4868 Rainier S., 725-1418.

The Painted Table As much imagination went into naming the items on the special prix fixe menu as the dishes themselves. Tasty samples: Deliverance and desire (pan-roasted quail glistening in diaphanous pomegranate glaze); That obscure object of desire (tournedos of salmon with earthy morels and suggestive asparagus spears); and Relax my love (maybe there ought to be a comma there, but in any case, rich chocolate cake flowing with strawberries and raspberry sauce). $50, $75 with paired wines. 92 Madison (in the Alexis Hotel), 624-3646.

Brasserie Margaux Tournedos, sea bass, paella, or squash ravioli accompanied by options like loverly Pacific oysters, sweet bite-size desserts for two, and a couple of glasses of Argyle Brut bubbly to toast each other with, plus 25 percent off other selected wines. $75 per couple. 401 Lenora, 443-4300.

Cassis A tr賠French four-course menu studded with items like seared foie gras, mushroom consomm鬠roast squab, mushroom-leek potato baskets, and a bevy of gooey romantic desserts. $70. 2359 10th E., 329-0580.

Hale’s Brewpub Curried mussels, Caesar salad, choice of scallops in red wine over angel hair pasta or crab-stuffed sirloin, plus chocolate-raspberry decadence. $60 per couple. 6:30 p.m. 4301 Leary Way N.W., 706-1544.

Sazerac An elaborate ࠬa carte menu for visitors on Love Night: shrimp cakes in aﯬi ($10.50), smoked trout salad ($9), honey-lavender game hen ($22), truffled goat-cheese ravioli ($20) . . . and for the unwillingly single, a special table to chat and dine with others similarly disinclined. 1101 Fourth, 624-7755.

Tulio Delectably ࠬa carte: wood-roasted oysters with three sauces ($10) or salmon carpaccio with shaved fennel salad, cr譥 frae, and caviar ($11) for starters, for example, and roast duckling with braised leeks and green onion risotto ($24), pancetta-grilled tuna in a basil ragu ($26), and rosemary-roasted rib eye with horseradish gnocchi ($28). 1100 Fifth, 624-5500.

Avenue One A two-tier evening: till 6:45 p.m., three courses for $49, or $75 for five courses all evening. Sample from more than a dozen offerings: tuna tartare with pancetta and radish, parsnip soup with smoked salmon, saut饤 bass with fennel pur饬 banana frangipane tart. 1921 First, 441-6139.

Watertown No significant other to toast? Go out and find one in the ruthless dating game devised by this Queen Anne watering hole: The attendees accumulating the most stars on their name tags win a free room at the W Hotel—if the gods are smiling, with each other. Dulce’s Latin Bistro Dine to Latin jazz on goat cheese in puff pastry, crab bisque, choice of five entr饳 (halibut in mushroom crust, apple-stuffed duck breast, prawn-poblano ravioli, and more), with a dessert tray to follow. $50. 1430 34th, 322-5453.

Andaluca A menu built around a classic presentation of whole lobster gratin with potato stuffing and braised greens. Salad, dessert, and chocolate truffles to wind up the meal. $47.50. 407 Olive, 382-6999.
