Pretty & Nice

Friday, August 22

The three Bostonians of Pretty & Nice flesh out indie-pop rhythms with subtle electronic undertones, with a bizarre and totally awesome result. One minute, you’re riding the guitar and vocals down a rhythmic pathway, until you’re suddenly thrown into a danceable electronic maelstrom. Their latest album Get Young (you can pick it up in stores October 8th) is just under 28 minutes of nonstop force— or as the band calls it, “tazer rock,” a strangely fitting description. Judging by grainy YouTube videos, Pretty & Nice delivers the fast, high energy, entertaining-as-hell show that their music deserves. And, thanks to Sub Pop offshoot Hardly Art, they’ll be coming to a Vera Project near you. Just seeing them perform newly released single “Tora Tora Tora” will be worth the trip.
