Monster Mash

Remember, they’re easily outrun!

Not to be confused with the Zombie Pub Crawl in November, today’s Zombie Walk focuses on bringing hundreds of un-dead brethren together to wreak havoc on the streets of Fremont. Hmm, I guess local zombies have quite the social calendar! Creator and organizer CleoZombie hopes to attract horror movie fans (or people who just like being weird) to dress like zombies and join her stumbling through the streets, eating the brains of the living, and, of course, hitting up the bars afterwards! Last year’s walk in U Village was a particularly great memory (and victory) for Seattle-area zombies. “We invaded…with a horde of 250 zombies,” CleoZombie recalls. “U Village management tried to threaten me to not bring zombies there with lawyer’s papers. I pushed the event and did it anyways. The frowns on shopkeepers’ faces in contrast to zombie glee from dining on such well-heeled shoppers was priceless.” She reminds potential zombies to not attract police attention (although a paddy-wagon full of zombies would be funny) and to not attack unwilling pedestrians, as the victims on this walk are volunteers. Disclaimer: “Organizers shall not be held liable for loss of sanity or life.” Man, there’s regulation red tape even for zombie walks these days! Meet at the Fremont Troll (under the Aurora Bridge at N. 36th St.) at 2:45 p.m.
