I Heart Rummage

Craft REtailers, REjoice

“We’re really excited about the REturn of IHR at Chop Suey! We have lots of REmarkable new vendors, as well as many of everyone’s REknown favorites!” exclaims I Heart Rummage head matron Cassandra Lanning via e-mail. Like many bands, bookers, bartenders, and security guards, Seattle’s beloved indie-craft market was left homeless by the Croc’s untimely closing, and Chop Suey has saved the day once again, scooping up IHR for once-a-month Sunday afternoon kitschy shopping madness. The IHR spring theme, according to Lanning, is, appropriately, RE-newal (which also explains her e-mail) which will include a whole bed of budding designers pushing their wares thoughout the new space. Among the new locally-crafted green wares: Pomdee’s handmade soy candles with wooden wicks, Urbana’s terra cotta skeleton mugs, and innovative noggin toppers by Nonluxe Chapeau. While it won’t be quite the same without the Crocodile’s delicious brunch menu and Bloody Marys, perhaps the Chop’s Soy Cowboy Cafe will abide by making their Asian-fusion menu available during the event. Spring roll, anyone? Chop Suey, 1325 E. Madison St., 324-8000. Free. Noon-4 p.m. AJA PECKNOLD
