Dax Riggs

Tuesday, November 6

Dax Riggs is a Louisiana son of a Jehovah’s Witness. Naturally, he sings gothic songs about God and Satan (mostly Satan) that are a raunchy blend of Fat Possum–style raw blues, back-porch picking, classic rock, and ’80s metal. When considering the bluesman continuum, he’s halfway on the moon shot between Nick Cave and R.L. Burnside. Carrie Biell, Or, the Whale, and Beaten Awake open.

Listen to a sample of Dax Riggs’ “Living is Suicide.”
