Artificial Intelligence (and Brawn)

Let the games begin

Miss the glory days of BattleBots? Have some epic robot stories, but no equally interested parties with which to rap? Then the seventh annual Robothon is for you! The international amateur robotics community comes together this weekend to share robot expertise, showcase new technological developments, and most importantly, stage robot contests! Whether you prefer to take in a robot-building workshop or want to watch some remedial machines sumo wrestle, back-to-back geek-fest activities are planned. There’s even a contest for robots to hunt Easter eggs—the one with the most plastic eggs wins. (Most adorable robot competition ever!) Budding programmers of all ages are encouraged to flaunt their mechanical forte; lab coats and bottle glasses optional. Low on funds or skills? Glue some blades on a Roomba and go for blood.
