A Holiday Romp

Deck yourself out before you start on the halls

Holiday songs drone on about being home for the holidays and enjoying time with the fam, but most of that stuff usually ends up sucking. So why aren’t there songs about the righteous holiday-makings: booze, chocolate and shopping for yourself? If the carols won’t do it, at least someone has the balls to throw a party that does, “A Holiday Romp!” The fete will feature burlesque performers strutting in designs by Kimmi and Cicada, and holiday wear from cute boutiques Andaluz and the Frock Shop. Show organizer and Kimmi designer, Kim McCormick, said not to expect any Christmas sweatshirts, though. Think more along the lines of party-wear. Attendees that want show off their own threads can walk the catwalk before the runway show. “A lot of times when people come to fashion shows, they’re watching each other more than they’re watching the clothes,” McCormick said. I can pretend like I’m still in the running toward becoming America’s Next Top Model! Kestrel wine will be flowing, while Theo Chocolate and Sweet Beauty provide holiday treats.
