Nick FeldmanThes One of People Under The StairsDespite some health issues–namely Double K’s back and leg injuries that necessitated a chair be onstage–People Under The Stairs not only followed through with last night’s show, but rocked it with 100 percent of their funky hip-hop energy. The turtablism (via Double K), drum machine expertise (courtesy Thes One), and party-rock emceeing (both) was awe-inspiring. The P.U.T.S. showed some major Seattle love with their freestyles, traded a cap off their head for a Mariners version from a fan and gave a shout out to Ezell’s fried chicken. And, throughout it all, I’ll be damned if the entire crowd didn’t know every single word of every single song.Double K of PUTSBe on the lookout for the highly enjoyable interview I did with both Double K and Thes One before their set, in which we discussed many things (not the least of which vinyl, from their massive collections to Fat Beats). More frames, including some of show openers Helladope–two of the best Seattle rappers to shoot photos of, in my opinion–after the jump.Thes OneJerm of Helladope–who I’ve decided is one of the best local hip-hop heads to photograph during a showHelladope’s Tay Sean
