Club Pick

One of Seattle’s newer live-music venues—and certainly one of the first to feature sleek tropical fish tanks, folded napkins, a mini-altar at the entranceway, and posh wedding reception seating—Kim‘s feels like an upscale karaoke joint, looks like an emperor’s diner, and is ready to rock to just about any beat. The owners book talent willy-nilly; it seems they’re ready and willing to host nearly anything. Jam bands, jive funk, indie pop, “melodic” hardcore, and some guy named DJ Tim have already found a welcome home here. With a full bar and a Vietnamese/pan-Asian menu, Kim’s might just have everything you need. And did we mention that it’s right across the street from the Oh Boy! Oberto factory outlet store? Like they say: location, location, location. 2007 S. State St., 206-325-2263.
