WoW Regionals

According to the official rulebook of the World of Warcraft trading-card game, “Two factions are battling for supremacy over Azeroth—the Horde and the Alliance.” WTF? Pursuing my investigation further into the WoW Regionals, I was informed by my WoW-playing friends and acquaintances that WoW players outrank computer-game players in nerd street cred. Who knew? Oh, but there’s even more to learn at this daylong event, in which competitors will vie for a Druid deckbox (for the top eight) or Molten Core treasure pack (for the top four). And to the winner? An “Extended Art Rescue the Survivors!,” which we believe is a deluxe card set. Parents are welcome, of course. And girls can assume the boy-girl ratio here will highly favor them. And be sure the boys will be very, very grateful for any attention. Seattle Center Alki Room, 305 Harrison St., 684-7200. www.cascadegames.com. $20 for entry; free to watch. 9 a.m. ERIKA HOBART
