Sonics Versus Nuggets

On Feb. 27 at KeyArena, the Denver Nuggets torched the Sonics’ defense for 138 points, which, at the time, represented a season-high for the entire NBA. Not good enough, said the Nugs: Playing at home on March 16, they crushed that mark, scoring 168 and beating the Sonics by a franchise-worst 52 points. Every team has the Sonics’ number this year, but the Nuggets really have it. Buying tickets to this game is tantamount to bribing a prison guard to let you sit in an electric chair peanut gallery—in other words: way more entertaining than most games featuring the worst defensive team (post-Kurt Thomas trade) in league history.
