Seattle Parks is planning a loop trail around Lake Union, and they want the public’s help naming the thing. Entries will be accepted by e-mail at paula.hoff@seattle.gov until Feb. 18, with prizes for first (a bicycle from REI), second, and third place. To get the gravel scattering, the Cutting Room offers the following suggestions:

•South Lake Union Trail

•”That’s the House From Sleepless in Seattle!” Footpath

•Vulcan Perambulation

•Re-experience Music Project (The trail will be dotted with Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock stations. Get five stars on DragonForce’s “Through the Fire and the Flames,” and Paul Allen will yank you onto his yacht for a jam session.)

•Condo Views

•William H. Gates III Memorial Walk (He’s not exactly knocking on heaven’s door, but at some point he’ll go to the great PC in the sky, and naming things after him now will save us the trouble of ordering a bunch of new signage when he does.)

•Swim at Your Own Risk

•Circular Union Neighborhood Trail
