Seattle residents signing up for Xfinity Internet can now get connected within hours, as Comcast announced Tuesday the launch of same-day Wi-Fi equipment delivery in the city.

The new offer allows customers to receive an Xfinity Gateway, the modem and router device needed for service, at their doorstep the same day they enroll. Customers across Washington can also opt to pick up equipment at more than 40 retail locations statewide.

The same-day delivery option is currently available to new customers in Seattle, with plans to expand service across Washington by the end of 2026, the company said.

The move comes as demand for quick, reliable home internet grows, particularly among new residents moving into the region. Washington’s population growth has outpaced the national average, increasing the need for faster service setup, according to the company.

“In a world where almost everything is instant, home internet shouldn’t be an exception,” Eric Jagher, senior vice president and general manager of connectivity at Comcast’s Xfinity, said in a statement.

Comcast says the service enables customers to go from sign-up to a working connection in a single day. After enrolling online, eligible customers can select same-day delivery, receive the gateway within hours, and activate service through the Xfinity mobile app. The company said installation typically takes only a few minutes.

Customers who choose in-store pickup can also leave with equipment the same day they sign up.

Even before their hardware arrives or is installed, new customers can access Xfinity’s network of more than 23 million Wi-Fi hotspots nationwide, the company said.

The gateway device supports multi-gig internet speeds and is designed to handle dozens of connected devices, from streaming services and video calls to smart home systems and gaming. It also includes built-in cybersecurity features that automatically monitor and block potential threats, as well as parental controls and network management via the Xfinity app.

Customers can check availability and enroll online or visit local Xfinity stores for in-person pickup.
