You’d think two guys who do a lot of local hiring might be in favor of an initiative that would raise billions dedicated for education, money that Washington has to spend whether it has it or not. But according to the latest campaign finance figures, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer and his Amazon counterpart Jeff Bezos are coming out against I-1098 — the “tax rich people” proposal — to the tune of $100,000 a piece. Not totally jazzed about the contributions, but if this leads to a Ballmer-Bill Gates Sr. cage match we can all agree it was worth it.
